Choose a place in front but a safe distance away from your home, where all family members will be visible to each other and to arriving fire fighters. Ensure that all family members know the number of the local fire department (and/or 911). Call for help immediately, but do not leave the meeting spot to call until all members of the household are there. Remind your children that it is NEVER okay to re-enter a burning or smoldering building — even if that means losing a prized possession or even a pet. |
