Season's Greetings

Safe at Home is pleased to be a participant in the Safe at Home for Holidays program featuring public service announcements, the 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety, and a special holiday season contest.

While the holiday season is one of the most festive times of the year, it can also be one of the most dangerous. The number of fires and fire fatalities often increases during the holiday season.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to forget about basic safety around the home. Whether it’s the kids home from school, having family and friends over, or celebrating with some festive cheer, it’s easy to let our guard down. And that’s when a fire can happen in our homes.

In response, the Ontario Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, together with fire departments across Canada, have released 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety.
